Keysight Technologies is now looking for an R&D workforce focusing on Metrology for Vector Network Analyzer measurements. You will be working for the Component Test Division which develops world-leading products used to design the latest high tech devices, such as cell phones, satellite systems, and other wireless communications devices. You will be joining the R&D group located in Santa Rosa but remote employment is a possibility.

You will be working on projects and as part of a team that gathers requirements, analyzes, designs, prototypes, develops and tests hardware, as well as, software, firmware and mobile applications that will go into next generation Vector Network Analyzer products. You will be working with hardware design engineers and other software engineers to gather internal and external customer requirements to create a complete system and integrate your deliverables into final shipping products.

Responsibilities:

  • Hardware definition and development of designs which meet performance, cost and schedule objectives, and follow them through prototype and pilot phases
  • Design and develop software, firmware or mobile applications for electronic test and measurement products; meet the schedule and scope needs of the project
  • Actively manage detailed project tasks and work closely with R&D Project Managers to track the project schedule and provide effective project risk management
  • Understand and appreciate the intricacies of Metrology Measurement Science
  • An ability to develop Software and design RF Hardware components will be requirement for this role
  • You are open minded, rigorous in reporting progress and willing to endorse new test methods

Qualifications:

  • PhD in Computer Science/Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related majors with an emphasis Metrology
  • Deep understanding of Network Analyzer Calibration Theory
  • Detailed and Demonstrated knowledge of uncertainties
  • Minimum of 5 years (8+ years preferred) relevant experience in Metrology/hardware product engineering
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to clearly articulate impact of technical choices to non-technical audiences, and build consensus across technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Great aptitude for engineering analysis and solutions, with strong working knowledge of basic engineering calculations and principles
  • Developed applications and solutions using MS C++ and Knowledge of object oriented programming concepts and design
  • Broad knowledge of various build and source control systems, development, debug and testing tools as well as methodologies
  • Experience with Network Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, Oscilloscope, Logic Analyzer, DVM, RF Sources, Power Meters, Detectors, etc
  • Must have excellent communication skills ( verbal and in writing) with ability to interface with an International team, most of which are in The US 
  • The ability to work in a team, with multiple customers/partners and across geographic boundaries
